Nebraska's Rhema Otabor, representing the Bahamas, and Auburn's Maura Huwalt, competing for the United States, took the top two spots in the women's javelin throw final at the North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC) Under-23 Championships at the National Stadium in San Jose, Costa Rica. Otabor, the reigning NCAA Division 1 champion, produced a third-round mark of 188-7 (57.48m) to capture gold and eclipse the meet record of 187-4 (57.09m) established in 2016 by Cuba's Yulenmis Aguilar in El Salvador. Huwalt secured silver with a first-round throw of 161-7 (49.25m).
